It's finally warm enough for a new Explore Time video! Yay! Today I filmed my itty bitty baby marginated tortoises, Gnocchi and Ziki, as they got some lovely time outdoors this morning. Indoors their daily diet is a rotation of leafy greens, but occasionally they enjoy snacking on the herbs outdoors!

Waffle is a Kenyan sand boa that loves digging, sleeping, eating, and exploring bedsheets that kind of match him. Actually that basically sums up his life.

Pierre the Diamondback Terrapin went out to explore today after a peaceful afternoon thunderstorm.

Diamondback terrapins are the only turtle species in the United States who live in the brackish water (a mixture of fresh water and salt water) of salt marshes and estuaries.

For more information about this amazing species, check out: http://www.defenders.org/diamondback-...

A temporary departure from my normal reptile related videos, but I couldn’t help it because I love an interesting animal topic! This bess beetle had some mites on it, and in this video I explain why!

Thanks to my awesome Patrons for supporting animal celebrating content like this! You guys rock!

If I had known he was fine I would not have picked him up! I just needed to check and see if he was injured because then I would have taken him to our local bird rehabber. This is a hermit thrush, a common forest dweller here on the Georgia coast. They like to skulk around under bushes and on the forest floor looking for insects and other arthropods to eat!

If you find a bird that has hit a window sometimes they are just stunned. This little guy warmed up on my hand (he was shivering) for a bit then flew away when I got done recording.

We went out road cruising and found two banded watersnakes and then a juvenile cottonmouth! He was super calm. While they can be defensive, they are not aggressive animals. This little fellow didn’t mind us being near!

Zoey meets Cupcake!

(closely supervised of course)
